February 24: Ten Unique Stories From Affiliate Dragons

Exactly one year ago, on February 24th, was the longest day in the lives of all Ukrainians. That night, people were sleeping peacefully, unaware that in the morning they would be awakened not by their alarm clocks, but by powerful explosions throughout Ukraine.

There was panic, crowds of people in stores, lines at gas stations and ATMs. No one knew what to do next. People continued to watch the news feeds, hoping to hear good news, but instead heard only what they did not want to believe – a full-scale war had begun.

Our team members were in different parts of Ukraine at that time, each with their own plans and lives. No one could have imagined that one fateful date would divide their lives into “before” and “after”.

Today, we will go back 365 days and relive those moments that remain forever in the memory of our Dragons. We will tell you how everything happened and how one day was able to turn the lives of millions of people upside down, including ours.

I will probably start with the backstory of how I ended up in Bucha on February 24th. I had lived my whole life in Zaporizhzhia, but a year before the war started, I became afraid that the fighting would begin in my city, as it is located close to Donetsk and the front line.

Despite the 120,000 troops on our borders ramping up tensions, I didn't believe until the last minute that I would wake up on February 24th at 5am to my mother's words "the war has started."
The Story of the Dragon Designer Olya:

I would like to say, "Nothing foreshadowed trouble...", but in fact, there were many alarming signs. The army was being moved to the borders, news recommendations on how to pack an emergency suitcase, and other hype from the media...
The Story of Dragons Business Development Manager / PR Nancy:

Our undeniable strength lies in the fact that we know how to not lose spirit even in the darkest days. Over the past 365 days, we have made an incredible leap forward and become even stronger. Yes, war is bad, but we did not give up. We discovered new opportunities.

Our Dragons do not know the word “stop” and continue to work tirelessly, grow and scale. We are not afraid of challenges, but on the contrary, we accept them with an open heart and readiness to overcome them. It is this that allows us to keep up with the times, develop and become better every day.

Thank you for being with us on this journey, sharing our memories, supporting us, and never stopping believing in us.

We are ready for new heights! Are you with us? 🙂
